All you need to know about Multivitamins

Multivitamins are a brilliant way to supplement a variety of vitamins and minerals, contributing toward optimal wellbeing.

Gummy multivitamins are particularly helpful, as they’re tasty and easy to eat.

Suitable for both adults and children, multivitamins support growth and development, which is particularly important during childhood.

Most vitamins can be found in our diet, however not all children can absorb the vitamins needed to support wellbeing.

What are some benefits of multivitamins?

Packed with a rainbow of vitamins

Vitamin A helps to support the immune system, helping to prevent illness.
B-range vitamins help to support the nervous system, regulate energy release, keep nails, skin, hair, and bones, healthy, and support red blood cell production.

Vitamin C protects our cells and supports healthy bones and skin. It also helps white blood cells to promote healing.

Vitamin D helps to protect our bones and muscles and supports mineral absorption. Vitamin E maintains healthy eyes and skin, and looks after our immune system.

Additionally, Vitamin K helps our bodies to heal and helps to clot blood.[18]

Most multivitamins also contain calcium, iron, and zinc. Whilst these are classified as minerals, they are crucial for children’s development.

Who should take multivitamins?

Everyone!

Multivitamins are particularly important when we are young and still developing.
Children who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet might be lacking vitamins such as B12, found mostly in animal products.[19]

Certain health conditions can also affect a child’s ability to absorb vitamins and nutrients. For example, autoimmune disorders, IBS, or cystic fibrosis.

Children who struggle to maintain a balanced diet might also struggle to get the vitamins they need to support their wellbeing.[20]
